Star Poker regular Hussein Hassan has won the 2019 APL Millio Main Event at The Star in Sydney, taking home $300,000 in the process.
The local Sydneysider topped a mammoth field of 1,294 players to claim the crown, reaching the final table as a clear chip leader before cruising to victory following a heads-up battle with another Sydney resident, Peter Curtin.
The APL Million Main Event is Hussan’s second significant tournament result at The Star in the past three months, having previously taken down the 6-handed event at WSOP Sydney in December for $104,000.
His career earnings now stand at almost $630,000.
